Questions

How do I crop a photo to a square?

Square is the default shape. The box opens centered with equal sides, so you can download right away, or drag it over the part of the photo you want to keep.

How do I crop an image to 4:5 for Instagram?

Pick 4:5 and drag the box over the part you want to keep. A 4:5 image is taller than it is wide, and the box keeps that shape as you resize it. If the app asks for exact pixels, send the cropped image to Resize image.

Does cropping lower the quality of an image?

Cropping cuts pixels away and does not stretch the ones that stay, so the part you keep is as sharp as the original. JPG and WebP are saved again after the cut, which is the only change. PNG is saved without loss.

Can I crop without a fixed shape?

Yes. Pick Free and drag any side or corner of the box. With Free the width and the height change independently.

Can I crop with the keyboard?

Yes. Focus the crop box, move it with the arrow keys, and hold Shift with the arrow keys to change its size. You can also type the x, y, width and height of the box in the fields below the image.

Can I crop many photos at once?

Yes. Drop them all and each one gets the centered crop in the shape you picked. Pick one in the list to move its box, and the other photos keep theirs.
